The Otero Museum was incorporated in 1984 by the Otero Museum association. The Otero County historical society donated their collections of memorabilia to this museum which was supplemented with dozens of items from local residents. This museum covers historic photos and artifacts from a period from 1875 to 1945. The museum is dedicated to preserve the heritage of La Junta.
