Lakewood city is located in Jefferson County of Colorado State in the United States.
It is the most populated city in Jefferson County. It is known as the Home Rule Municipality. Due to its population, it is ranked as the 4th most populated city in Colorado State.
As per the 2000 census, the population of the city is 144,126. At the time of Lakewood's incorporation in 1969, the population had already reached 90,000.
The city was first settled in 1889 by W.A.H. Loveland and Charles Welch.
The climatic conditions are a little complex in the city, due to its location in Colorado. The valleys and mountains have an influence on the local weather. Summers are warm in the daytime, while nights are cool.
At times, the city experiences mild snowfall during the summer. Storms generally affect the city during winter and whenever temperature falls.
