Roxborough State Park
The Roxborough State Park is a 3,339 acre of park which is filled with dramatic red rock formations and with distant plant communities. There is also a host of wildlife which ranges from mule deer to black bears. A tourist can take in all of Roxborough’s nature beauty through a series of trails which is for every level of hiker. There is also the Fountain Valley which overlooks 100 yards from the Visitor Center. This also provides spectacular view of many beautiful rock formations like the Fountain formation, the Dakota Hogback and the Lyons Formation. The park is open from 0800 to 1800 hours in the month of March.
Deer Creek Canyon
Deer Creek Canyon is a park which is near Littleton. It is spread over 1.7 miles and people often visit this park for trails and such sports. There are also Plymouth Creek Trail and the Meadow Lark trail. Apart from this, there are rocky slopes, huge red rock formations and also the Hogback layered rocks. One can also pass through the pine forests and areas which are shady and cool. The park is very pleasant to go for long walks and hikes without any bustle of city traffic noise.
