Tourist Guide San Juan
San Juan is a picturesque county located in the state of Colorado, United States. San Juan means ‘Saint John’ in the regional language. Set amidst the scenic San Juan Mountains, the county has a very small population of around 600 inhabitants. In terms of population, it is the smallest county in the state.
The city has warm summers and cool, wet winters. Owing to its location amidst the mountains, summers nights are cool and pleasant. Abundant snowfall is received during winters, coupled with occasional thunderstorms.
The San Juan County developed in the San Juan Mountains with the formation of the San Juan District Mining Association. The small population is mainly engaged in agriculture, mining and livestock. Tourism also brings in revenue for the county.
