The Telluride Film Festival was started in the year 1974 by Tom Luddy, Jim Card, Bill and Stella Pence. It is operated by the National Film Preserve, Ltd. The festival is at present, based in Telluride in Colorado after years of having been based in Hanover and Portsmouth. The festival is held on Labor Day weekend each year. It’s a program of blend of forgotten gems and films which makes North American, and the World premiers. Each year, tributes are also paid to the directors and such actors who have fundamentally changed the world of cinema. Overall, there are six special events that takes place over the course of the festival.
