Hill-Stead Museum
The ‘Hill-Stead Museum’ can be described as an extraordinary art gallery which features works by Degas, Monet, Manet, Whistler, and Cassat. The construction itself consists of 29 rooms; called ‘Colonial Revival House’ built in the year 1901. Grounds covering 152 acres go on to feature ‘sunken garden’.
Timings
Hill-Stead Museum remains open from Mondays to Sundays between 10:00 and 17:00. These timings are applicable between 1st of May and 31st of October. From 1st of November to 30th of April, this museum remains open between 11:00 and 16:00. The days on which Hill-Stead Museum remains closed are 1st of January, Easter, 4th of July, 4th Thursday of November, i.e. Thanksgiving day, and 25th of December.
Stanley-Whitman House
This house, built in the 17th century, goes on to feature periodic furnishings as well as the other house-hold items. In the year 1961, it was declared as a ‘National Historic Landmark’.
Timings
This house remains open from Wednesdays to Sundays between 12:00 and 16:00 (in the summer season). In the winter season, it remains open on Saturdays and Sundays only.
