The name ‘Glastonbury’ has been given due to ‘English Glastonbury’. This city stands on banks of ‘Connecticut River’, on the south-eastern side of Hartford. Town center has also been defined as a CDP, i.e. census-designated place by US Census Bureau.

Total area of Glastonbury according to US Census Bureau is 135.4 per sq. Km; out of which 1.76%25 consists of water. This town stands along banks of Connecticut River. It extends till foothills; several out of which go on to provide view with regards to skyline of Hartford. Certain major developments within this town are inclusive of ‘Minnechaug Mountain’; i.e. main residential region which was developed between 70s and late 90s.
