Artworks Gallery was founded in 1976 and is the oldest nonprofit artist’s cooperative in the Hartford area. In the Artworks Gallery member and nonmember artists, create artistic work and benefit the Greater Hartford area. These artworks have been site of many exciting exhibitions. The artworks here continue to represent the work of emerging and established regional artists. The gallery has evolved into a significant cultural center offering poetry readings and art lectures as well as music and dance performances. Artworks gallery was awarded Renaissance in the Art category in 1996 and Artworks gallery was recently Voted "The Best Art Gallery" for the fifth consecutive year in the Readers Poll of the Hartford Advocate.
