Lebanon, also known as the farming town lies to the northwest of Norwich, 32 km to the north of New London and 32 km to the east of Hartford.
The name “Lebanon” has been derived from Bible. It was given by Rev Fitch’s sons, because of the height of the land and the cedar forest. This town came into existence on October 10, 1700. Earlier the name of this town was Poquechaneed and was utilized mainly for hunting.
This town once formed the base for American military operations during American Revolution. During that time the town was an important center for various kinds of activities.
With the farm houses on the row, Lebanon offers a majestic picture to the travelers across the globe. This Green town is spread across 143.1km with an estimated population of 7,334.
Since the summers are warm and dry, the best time to experience the pleasant weather is winter.
