Tourist Guide Meriden
Meriden is a city in New Haven County in Connecticut, United States. Originally part of Wallingford, Meriden became a town in 1806 and later on incorporated as a city in the year 1867.
As per the United States Census Bureau, Meriden has a total area of 24.1 square miles of which, 23.8 square miles of it is totally land and the other 0.4 square miles of it is water. There are some prominent peaks in Meriden, which are the Metacomet Ridge, the Hanging Hills, Besek Mountain and Chauncey Peak, to name a few.
As per the 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the population of Meriden was 59,653.
The climate in Meriden is warm during the summer season with 70 degree Fahrenheit and cold during the winters with 20 degree Fahrenheit. The oldest house in Meriden is still standing and was built by Solomon Goffe in 1711 and at present, it is a museum, namely the Solomon Goffe Museum.
