Museums: New Britain Museum of American Art
The New Britain Museum of American Art was founded in 1903 and entitles the institution to be designated as the first ever museum which has strictly American art in the country. This museum has over 5,000 works of art. The museum has some permanent collections for programs and exhibitions. Moreover, it also displays an important number of borrowed shows and such work by emerging artists. The hours include Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1100 to 1700 hours. On Thursdays the museum is open from 1100 to 2000 hours, Saturdays, 1000 to 1700 hours, Sundays 1200 to 1700 hours and closed on Mondays.
Nature & sport: New Britain Stadium
The New Britain Stadium was constructed in 1996 and became home for the City rock Cats team. This stadium was later named as the “Gem of the Eastern League. Torii Hunter, who won the Gold Glove Award six times, patrols the centerfield at the New Britain Stadium for three seasons.
