West Rock Ridge Nature Center
West Rock Ridge Nature Center consists of 43 acres of upland woods and fields at the northern base of West Rock Ridge. The property contains a variety of 300 different plant species. In the visitors Nature House one can observe a variety of live reptiles, amphibians, and insects either indigenous to Connecticut or far off climatic regions.
New Haven historically supported its minor league hockey teams enthusiastically, having had a hockey team for 76 years. New Haven was home to the minor league baseball team the New Haven Ravens, and Eastern League AA unit, from 1994 to 2003.
