Ridgefield has been bordered by towns of Lewisboro and North Salem in county of Westchester, New York on the western side, Danbury, Connecticut on the northern side, Wilton, Connecticut on the southern side, and Redding, Connecticut on the eastern side.

According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Ridgefield was 23643; with its density being 265.1 per sq. Km.
