Simsbury can be described as one of the suburban towns located in county of Hartford, Connecticut, US.
Simsbury got incorporated as 21st town of Connecticut in the month of May in the year 1670. Wittmund (Germany) is its sister city.
As per US census Bureau, area of Simsbury on the whole comes out to be 88.9 sq. Km; out of which 1.25%25 consists of water. This town lies towards northern end with respect to Farmington Valley. Simsbury’s eastern side has been flanked by ‘Talcott Mountain’, i.e. portion of Metacomet Ridge. At this mountain’s western foot, i.e. adjacent to Farmington River, Pinchot Sycamores grow. They are 2 extensive specimens of ‘champion tree’ status. The period between November and January would prove to be the best period to pay a visit.
In summer, temperatures tend to be in 70s (degree F); whereas in winter, they are in 20s (degree F).
According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Simsbury was 23234; with its density being 264.8 per sq. Km.
