Waterbury is located on River Naugatuck in New Haven County in Connecticut, USA. It was initially home to people of the Algonquin tribe. Presently, it houses a population of approximately 108,000 and occupies an area of around 25 sq km.
Being a hub for the American Brass industry, this city was named ‘Brass City’. Waterbury has a diverse topography that includes rivers, ponds, valleys, meadows, vegetation and much more. The city enjoys a pleasant climate. The average maximum temperature in summer remains around a bearable 27°C, and the maximum average temperature in winter is approximately 3°C.
The economy of Waterbury has been mainly dependent on its manufacturing sector that specializes in the production of brass products. However, due to the numerous natural and manmade attractions found in the city, Waterbury has become an important tourist destination and the tourism industry contributes a lot to the city’s economy.
