Wilton can be described as a town located in county of Fairfield, Connecticut, US.
Wilton lies along Gold Coast of Connecticut. It’s amongst the most prosperous communities all over the US.
Wilton obtained recognition in the form of a parish in the year 1726. In the year 1777, i.e. during Revolutionary War, British made use of Wilton as escape route following failed attack on their part on ‘Danbury’. Loads of shelters were set on fire. However, town did not get destroyed.
At present, Wilton, just like several other towns of Fairfield County, is known as one of the most expensive ‘residential’ communities having open lands, town services, and historic architecture.
As per US Census Bureau, area of Wilton, on the whole, comes out to be 70.9 sq. Km; out of which 1.5% consists of water. Southwestern corner with respect to Wilton is inclusive of portion of Silvermine neighborhood. Northeastern corner witnesses partial presence of Weston and Redding. Wilton has pleasant climate on an average.
Population according to census conducted in the year 2000 was estimated to be 17633.
