The Barratt’s Chapel Museum was erected in the year 1780 and was known as the ‘Cradle of Methodism in America’. This chapel was donated by Philip Barratt, who was a prominent figure in Kent County in Delaware. At this museum, the Methodists established the New World Chapter of their own religion in 1784. This museum and chapel is open for all at weekends. This is the oldest surviving church building in United States which has been built by and for Methodists.
