Located on River Broadkill is the picturesque city of Milton in Sussex County in Delaware, USA.
The city has a population of around 2,000 inhabitants and is spread over an area of 3 sq km.
Milton was settled in 1672 by the British and was then an important shipbuilding community. Milton, named after the famous poet John Milton, is also known for its numerous and beautifully preserved architectural masterpieces from the seventeenth and the eighteenth centuries.
The economy of this city is largely dependent on its small business community and the agriculture, tourism and service sectors.
Milton’s terrain comprises mainly flat land. The city has an extremely pleasant climate throughout which adds to its scenic beauty. Summers are warm and bearable, and winters are cool and comfortable. The maximum annual average temperature is around 18°C, whereas the minimum average annual temperature is approximately 8°C.
