Eastsound is an unincorporated community located on Orcas Island in Washington USA. Situated in San Juan County with a population of around 3,800, it is the largest community of the San Juan Islands.
Located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, Eastsound enjoys a temperate climate. Summers are warm and sunny with an average temperature of 18°C, while winters are mild with an average temperature of 8°C.
As the main village on the Orcas Island, Eastsound is also the commercial hub of the island. It provides several avenues for shopping, dining and sightseeing. It features the Orcas Island Historical Museum and the Farmers Market.
Its location is conducive to water sports like swimming, boating and kayaking. It has easy access to the Moran State Park and is a great point for whale watching. Nestled in scenic beauty and blessed with an inviting climate, Eastsound is a popular tourist destination.
