Amelia Island Museum of History
The museum was actually a County Jail of Nassau. . It has exhibits of Florida history of 4,000 years which includes the eight flags of occupation. It exhibits different articles related to the islands history, walking tours and ghost tours are arranged, many times educational lectures are too conducted.
Amelia Island State Park
The park is situated on the northeastern side of Florida; The park has salt marshes, beautiful beaches, and coastal forests. It is inimitable, as is the only state park that permits, its visitor’s are allowed on the beach horseback riding. Another vital feature is the mile-long bridge turned fishing pier, where you can cast a line for some of the best fishing in Florida.
The Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival
First Shrimp Festival took place in 1963, around 150,000 people visit, for the purpose of celebrating the shrimp fleet which is considered as a blessing. They come to the event of weekend to try out the fine culinary, special activities of fine arts and special activities.
The crafts and arts stalls of the festival in collaboration with the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival Committee are sponsored by The Island Art Association.
The Sunshine magazine of North America has nominated it as a popular art event and has also ranked it in the top 200, for many years now
