Apollo Beach can be described as one of the unincorporated CDPs, i.e. census-designated places located in county of Hillsborough, Florida, US.
As per US Census Bureau, area of Apollo Beach, on the whole, comes out to be 15.3 sq. Km; out of which 3.56%25 consists of water.
The name ‘Apollo Beach’ has been given in honor of the Greek God (mythical); who is said to have brought warmth and light to universe every day. As per locals, this name had been given by ‘Dorothy Corr’, i.e. wife of Francis J. Corr, founder and developer of this community. This had happened in 1960s, i.e. when US space program was just taking off within Florida.
Apollo Beach received rainfall of around 55 inches every year. Snowfall does not occur. July proves to be the hottest month; with temperature of around 92 degree F; whereas January to be the coolest, with temperature of around 50 degree F.
According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Apollo Beach was 7444.
