General opinion:  I bought a place here in 2011 and now I live here full-time versus the Snowbird that we intended. Being in Bradenton we are close to all the nicest beaches in the country including 20 mins from Siesta Key, St Armands Circle, Long boat Key, the islands and a quick jaunt to Tampa, St Pete and Clearwater. There are all types of art stuff to do such as Ringling brother museum, Asolo theater and ballet, the Van Wezel (recently Queen Latifah and Michael Bolton). I could go on but there is not enough room here to type it all. For the kids there is always something to do on the Riverwalk or ... More any of the Manatee Day's. On the island there are all types of festivals. There are aquariums in Sarasota, bradenton, clearwater and Tampa, to name a few. I donate to one or two for their memberships and use the partnerships for the admissions discounts to all of others. the crime rate is only 4% the people are kind and friendly and it is easy to find things around here. Even have a Comedy Club called McCurdeys on Route 41. It is a nice town to live in from my point of view after living here for a year.

In to Tampa Bay and around Mexico, there seem to be around twenty miles of ‘Florida Beaches’. Most of them have been shaded by ‘Australian pines’. Having bordered on northern side by Manatee River, this place is situated on mainland. Besides, it’s separated from outer islands (like Anna Maria Island which act as a barrier) as well as ‘Longboat Key’ by Intracoastal Waterway.

The population as per 2006 census was 53986.

Manatee Village Historical Park Manatee Village Historical Park is inclusive of 1887 church, 1903 general store, 1860 courthouse, 1912 settler house, and 1908 1-room school house. Kids would literally have a blast with ‘Bat’s boat barn’. They can also draw lizards on chalkboard. The best part of this place is that visitors are allowed to have discovered things on their own as it is minimally staffed as well as free. Timings: This park remains open from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 and 16:30, and on Sunday between 13:30 and 16:30 from 1st of September to 30th of June. It remains open from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 16:30 from 1st of July to 31st of August. De Soto National Memorial This memorial goes on to commemorate Hernando de Soto, a Spanish explorer. The park goes on to describe De Soto voyage, clashes with values of natives, and Spanish values. Various historical demonstrations would be seen over here.
