Brooksville can be described as one of the incorporated cities located in county of Hernando, Florida, US. It’s also its county seat.

As per US Census Bureau, area of Brooksville on the whole comes out to be 12.9 sq. Km; out of which 0.6%25 consists of water. Florida’s geographic center happens to be at the distance of 12 miles on the northwestern side of Brooksville. Once upon a time, Brooksville had been one amongst the major areas producing citrus.

Brooksville receives rainfall of around 55 inches every year. Snowfall does not occur. July proves to be the hottest month; with temperature of around 90 degree F; whereas January proves to be the coolest month; with temperature of around 49 degree F.

Originally, Brooksville had been known as ‘Melendez’. It was settled for the 1st time in around 1845.

According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Brooksville was 7264; with its density being 567.7 per sq. Km.
