Clearwater is a popular city located in the County of Pinellas in Florida, United States. It is situated to the northwest of St. Petersburg and to the west of Tampa. Of the three major cities in the Tampa Bay Area, Clearwater city is the smallest one. Tampa Bay area consists of Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Tampa metropolitan areas.During the early centuries, Clearwater was occupied by the Tocobaga people. Clearwater was first incorporated as a town in 1891. The city was reincorporated in 1915. According to the 2005 census, the city had a population of 108687. The city is located at (27.973644, -82.764271). The total area of the city is around 97.7 sq. Km. 32.98% of the area is covered by water. The climate over here is pleasant. The temperature reaches its peak during the month of August and lower temperature is experienced during January. The city can be accessed by land and air.
