The Museum of Arts and Sciences is the largest cultural institution of the Volusia County. This is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and features 100 square feet of art. It displays the history of Florida and natural and social sciences.
The museum collects a wide range of books and historical art collections. It provides many educational programs, educating about the history of Daytona Beach.

The Cuban Museum exhibit in Daytona’s Museum of Arts and Sciences has pieces of artwork that even Fidel Castro can’t get his hands on. This permanent exhibit breathes a sigh of cultural relief for the beach town. It contains Spanish-colonial art pieces and displays over 200 pieces that cover a 300-year time span. The 2,000-square foot gallery boasts an impressive collection of rare maps, documents, lithographs, painting, furniture, sculptures and ceramics. Ninety percent of the museum’s pieces were sent to Daytona by former Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista. In the center of what is generally considered a vacation destination, The Cuban Art exhibit gives Cuban Americans an unparalleled glimpse into their cultural ancestry and provides tourists with a refreshing change from the constant beach life. The exhibit is located at the Museum of Modern Arts and Sciences off of Nova Road South (route 5A) in Daytona Beach.
