The Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse was built in 1887 and was designated as a national historic landmark in 1998. This lighthouse is visited by more than 125,000 people each year. This lighthouse tower and museum are situated almost twelve miles to the south of Daytona Beach and open year around. The museum exhibits the making of the lighthouse, Florida history and also about the Daytona Beach and restoration of the lighthouse.
