The historic ballpark opened in 1914 as the Daytona City Island Ballpark. It had a baseball field and a set of wooden bleachers. It had its various additions like the grandstand, bleacher section and such additions too. The park was renamed as Jackie Robinson Ballpark in 1989 as the stadium served as host to the first racially integrated game in baseball history.
