Deerfield Beach is a city and an oceanfront community situated in Broward County, Florida. The city is called Deerfield due to numerous deer that came to graze along the Hillsboro River. The 2000 census showed an existence of 64,583 people. The ethnic mix comprises of 71.3%25 Whites, 16.0%25 African American, 1.39%25 Asian and the rest from other minor races. About 75.36%25 of the population speaks English, 8.70%25 Spanish and Portuguese and French were also spoken by some minority percent The Deerfield downtown has three shopping centers with notable locations. The city has 3 Universities, and a few colleges and about eight local schools.It has two parks, one Deerfield Island Park and the other named Westside Park. It had a number of tourist attractions. Major points of attraction are Deerfield Beach Pier, Quiet Waters Park, and Deerfield Beach Arboretum. It has a tropical weather and temperature varies between 60 and 90 F with 80%25 humidity.
