DeLand can be referred to as Volusia County’s county seat in Florida, US. It is a portion of Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond beach, Florida metropolitan Statistical Area. This place also includes West DeLand’s census designated place. DeLand is a home to ‘Stetson University’.
Being noted for historic architecture, this downtown is being undergoing loads of renovations since the last few years. On 2nd of February, 2007, ‘a major tornado outbreak’ had hit DeLand as well as its surrounding areas. As per US Census Bureau, the area of DeLand on the whole is 42 sq. Km; out of which 41 sq. Km is land. This place has been drained by ‘St. Johns River’.
Education-both, primary, secondary is handled through ‘Volusia County Schools’. The climate is quite pleasing. It’s advisable to visit this place during the summer season. The population as per 2006 census was 436575. As such, more and more people flock over due to fine climate.
