Fort Lauderdale offers some fantastic beaches for whiling away long hours in the sun whether your pleasure is tanning, relaxing or fun games of beach volleyball under the beating sun.
One of the very best is John U. Lloyd State Park beach. Set on an unspoiled 251 acre barrier island it is a protected sanctuary area, assuring that these fantastic quiet expanses, brilliant diving spots and vitally important sea turtle nesting sites remain beautiful for us all.
Fort Lauderdale beach itself is what is known in America as a Blue Wave beach. In this case the beach is exceptional not just for its size, with four miles of coastline open to the public but for its vibrant beachside shopping communities and overall pleasant setting. A few years ago the area was cleaned up (it had once been a famous destination for spring breakers) and now serves families and all alike with swimming, jet skiing, diving, snorkeling and much more.
