Florida’s Port Everglades is one US’s leading container ports. It sees over 5200 ships annually and is a major petroleum storage and distribution hub, and a United States Navy liberty port. It is the deepest and the top ranked among all Florida ports. It is also among the world's busiest cruise departure ports and has the world record for hosting the most number of cruise passengers in a single day. Broward County Board of County Commissioners handles all port operations.
