For a night out in Fort Lauderdale on the cheap, kill two birds with one stone by eating and drinking at the happy hour at Aruba Beach Cafe (1 Commercial Blvd. in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea). There are good drink specials every night and live music every night but Saturday. On Fridays, the Aruba has a free pig roast and two-for-one drinks from 4 to 7 p.m. That ought to get your night started off right.
Paddy McGee's in Delray Beach will keep the good times rolling without costing too much. Domestic bottles are $2 and Jameson shots $3 every day.
Cap the night off at the A1A Dive Bar (3233 N. Ocean Blvd.). Complete with a statue of Blackbeard, fishing gear and Aloha shirts everywhere, the Dive Bar has a great atmosphere and wide selection at good prices.
