Just south of the Fort Lauderdale airport near Hollywood lies the acquatic paradise of John U. Lloyd Beach State Park. It's nearly impossible to check all the activities off your to-do list in one day. Fortunately, you can commune with nature at a camping site.
Whether you want to observe fish or catch them, the park has what you're looking for. The shore dive is easy to make and chock-full of colorful sealife, and the park has two boat ramps with access to the open-water fishing of the Port Everglades Inlet. There are also kayak and canoe rentals so you can find that perfect snorkeling spot on your on.
Back on dry land, have a picnic on the beach before taking the 45-minute hike through the seaside subtropical forest to see birds whose beauty rivals the fish.
