The State Part is located on the north shore of Fort Pierce Inlet. It is a 340-acre park and consists of beaches, dunes and coastal hammock amid the Atlantic Ocean and the waters of Tucker Cove. A place called Dynamite Point is a great site for bird watching, while the south end of the park is a good place for anglers. Also, Jack Island Preserve has trails for hiking, bicycling, and nature study, while at the west end of the Marsh Rabbit Run Trail visitors can also to get a fantastic view of Indian River and the island from an observation tower. Other activities include swimming, surfing, picnicking and hiking on Jack Island trails.
