The Northwest Florida Regional Airport is an airport which is situated within the Eglin Air Force Base and is near Fort Walton Beach and Valparaiso. However, no private aircraft are permitted to leave out of or to arrive at the airport. In this case, the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport is used for commercial operations. The Northwest Florida Regional Airport opened in 2004.
