Fort Walton Beach city is situated in southern region of the Okaloosa County of Florida in the United States of America. The population estimate for the city was recorded to be 19,992 by the U.S. Census Bureau in the year 2004. It is supposed to be the chief city of the Fort Walton Beach-Destin Metropolitan Statistical Area. It has a marvelous fishing and beach resort which is the major attraction for tourists from nearby cities. Summer season and spring is the busy period time when many people come to the Emerald Coast. The city recorded a total area of 21.3 km² of which 19.3 km² is covered by land and only 2.0 km² is under water. The city goes through a very tender wet subtropical climate. The area experiences raging and humid summers from June till September. In general autumns are warm and winters are very mild and balmy. The area registered its highest temperature of 42°C in 1980 and lowest temperature of -16°C in 1985. Air facilities are tremendously good due to the presence of many airlines some of which are American Eagles, Delta Air Lines, Continental Express, North West Airlines and United States Airways Express. The economy of the city is mainly dependent on two major occupations military and tourism.
