Gulf Breeze city is situated in Santa Rosa County on the Fairpoint Peninsula. It is a suburb of Pensacola across the Pensacola Bay. The city is known as Proper, an abbreviation of “Gulf Breeze Project”.
As of 2000, it had a population estimation of 5,665 people. By 2009, the population reached to 6,527 people. Since 2000, it has had a growth in population of 13.79 percent.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 61.0 square kilometers, of which, 12.3 square kilometers is land and 48.7 square kilometers is water. Its growth is geographically restricted, as it is surrounded by major water bodies on three sides.
