Hobe Sound is an unincorporated town and a census designated place in Martin County in Florida. It is part of the Port St. Lucie Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its first settlers were Jobe Indians, one of the Native American groups who settled prior to European settlers and after whom it has been named.
The population reached to 11,376 people in 2000. In 2009, its population estimates to 11,614 people. Since 2000, it has had a population growth of 2.48 percent.
As per the United States Census Bureau, it has a total area of 14.8 square kilometers, of which 14.1 square kilometers is land and 0.7 square kilometers is water.
