Jonathan Dickinson State Park is a Florida State Park and a historic site in Martin County. This park is between Tequesta and Hobe Sound. It includes many natural communities like pine flat woods, sand pine scrub, river swamps and mangroves. The 11,500 acres of park was established in 1950 and named after Jonathan Dickinson, a Quaker merchant, shipwrecked in 1696 along with his family and other crew on the Florida coast. This park has provision of amenities like boat tours, bicycling, canoeing, boating, fishing, cabins, hiking, kayaking, horse trails and even picnic area provision for all its visitors. There are also full camping, wildlife viewing and swimming facilities provided to all. Moreover, the park has a museum which offers exhibits and displays in the Elsa Kimbell Environmental Education and Research Center. This center strives to present the natural and cultural history of the park.
