Hollywood city is situated in South East of Broward County in Florida in United States. Founded in 1925, the city grew instantly in 1950s and 1960s. At present, it is the 12th largest city in Florida. It is the principal city of the South Florida metropolitan area.

The population of this city was estimated to 141,740 people as per the 2008 census. As of 1009, its population is 142,473 people.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city of Hollywood has a total area of 30.8 square miles, out of which 27.34 square miles is land and 3.46 square miles is water.

The city is bounded by many municipalities like Fort Lauderdale, Cooper City, West Park and such municipalities.

Hollywood experiences 55 inches of rainfall each year. It receives 246 sunny days and its measurable precipitation is 97 days. The month of January is low with 58 degrees and the month of July is high with 90 degrees.
