Homestead’s coral Castle is a truly unique castle built over a period of twenty years by Edward Leedskalnin using over 1,100 tons of sculptured coral. It was a memorial to his fiancée who broke off their engagement on the eve of their wedding. The carvings and many of its features are notable It has been added as a historic place in the National Register of Historic Places.
