Alligator Reef is marked by a lighthouse of 136 feet. In 1822, an US Alligator hit the ground in this spot. It sank while preventing an escort from pirates. Presently, ballast stone’s twin piles are the only remains of the wreck. A coral reef is still present here 25 feet away from the water. The coral reef is still alive and vibrant. The reef consists of a massive number of marine lives.
