The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens was built on the site of Arthur and Ninah Cummer house. Opened in 1961, it has collection of sixty pieces that launched the museum. The permanent collections are over six thousand works of art and encompass 8,000 years of art history. This museum is known as the largest fine arts museum in Northeast Florida.
