Flagler Island can be described as one of the artificial islands constructed in the year 1920. A 110-feet high obelisk containing sculptures which point in 4 directions are inclusive of ‘a man in a Roman toga (representing Industry)’, female holding books (representing education), sailor shielding eyes from sun (representing Pioneers), and female wearing long gown/tiara (representing prosperity).
