Key Largo, from the Florida Keys island chain, the island placed on the northernmost side is at a distance of an hour’s drive from the two major airports of South Florida.
It is the Largest of the keys, 33 miles long. It is connected to the main land in Miami-Dade County by two routes.
The island gained popular as the setting of the 1948 Humphrey Bogart-Lauren Bacall movie Key Largo, even though has been filmed entirely on a Warner Brothers sound stage in Hollywood.
Known as the diving capital of the World Key largo is a well admired tourist spot, thanks to the alive coral reefs placed a few miles away from the shores.
Every year this attracts a large number of sport fishing enthusiast and scuba divers.
Its closeness to the Everglades is another point is for kayakers and ecotourist a foremost destination.
