The Custom House was built in 1891; it first served as a post office and a government center. Custom House Museum is the future site of the Key West Art and Historical Society’s permanent collection. The museum features a main gallery of rotating art exhibits and smaller galleries with exhibits related to Key West history. We can see folk artist Mario Sanchez’s colorful wood paintings here.
Custom House Museum will be open between 9.30 am to 4.30 pm everyday. On Christmas Day and Christmas Eve the museum will be closed.
