Diving is another major attraction in Key West next to fishing and snorkeling. For those interested in wreck diving, there are a few available to visitors like the purposefully sunk Gen. Hoyt S. Vandenberg as an artificial reef 7 miles off Key West and The Cayman Salvager. Also the Key Lighthouse Reef, a 10-mile reef system marked by a large iron lighthouse, has coral formations of varying depths.
