For those wishing to keep in shape while on vacation, Yoga on the Beach offers classes throughout beaches in Key West. Tourists can attend sessions at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park from November to June, or year round at the Southernmost location on 508 South Street. Classes are Monday through Saturday, and the instructors provide mats and blankets for the students.
Those looking for a more personalized experience, or trying to practice specific yoga techniques, can sign up for a private one hour session with one of the instructors. The private session can be used for strict yoga practice, or to help free up "blocked energy" through exercises such as breathplay and heartspirit, using the power of breath and the heart to remove your body's inhibitions.
The instructors here promote yoga not only as a path to fitness, but as a method of deep relaxation and greater connection to your body. Events such as wellness retreats are also held throughout the year to emphasize a lifestyle promoting an overall state of health and well-being.
