Key West’s nightly sunset celebration festival is a massive draw for interested tourists. It boast a wide variety of street performers, artists, food stalls and of course arts and crafts from around the world.
What can and has been described as a ‘multicultural happening’ (a term which rings with the lost excitement of the 60s generation) occurs every evening on the waters edge as locals mingle with internationals and American tourists to soak in the atmosphere and watch the sun swiftly dip beneath the horizon into the Gulf of Mexico.
A trip down here to the waterfront at night is always an experience and the acts frequently change. One long term resident Will Soto has performed his high-wire acrobatic displays here for the past 20 years and is a major draw. Other attractions include Dennis Riley the ‘southernmost bagpiper’ and Bible Bill (Rev.) who offers a sermon to the crowd (at least to those that will turn him their ears) as the sun goes down.
A truly unique and wonderful experience!
