The Chili Cook Off event is a seasonal event and is hosted by the city parks and recreation department. It was the 13th annual sunshine regional chili cook off event which was held in January 2009. This competition offers more than 4,000 dollars either in cash or in prize and 1,000 dollars to the first place winner of the event. During the competition, there are also live entertainment, children activities and many food vendors.
